“We are a soup to nuts design-build contractor”

Owner Gretchen Yahn

“We are a soup to nuts design-build contractor,” Owner Gretchen Yahn said. “We strive to provide each of our clients with a seamless process. We can design, design and implement or offer you a menu of services for individual projects.”

A unique feature of Middleburg Design is their 2,000 square foot showroom. There, your vision meets the more than 30 years of professional experience Yahn and her team have. When you meet with the team, you will discuss ideas with experienced designers, view displays and samples, browse an extensive library of product catalogs and create a plan for your dream home.

“So often, people have trouble visualizing, and our showroom helps with that we were the Home Depot Expo before there was a Home Depot Expo,” Yahn said. “With three decades in the business, I can help them with what will look good while maximizing functionality and keeping within their budget. And we stock our showroom with a variety of looks and price points so that there are options for everyone’s budget.”

Yahn said she frequently works with people who have not even bought a home yet.

“I can work with potential buyers as they are in the process of looking,” she said. “When they look at something that needs a new kitchen or bathroom, I can help them determine the cost of that renovation to help them understand the full price of the home.”

The bulk of the business is new builds, but they also work with everything from small renovations, updating countertops or cabinetry to additions and major renovations.

Throughout the process of working with Middleburg Design, you can count on knowing what is happening every step of the way. We communicate with you continuously to make sure you are informed, your questions are answered and your expectations are met. Once we meet your expectations, we follow up with you at three months, six months and 12 months after project completion.

Yahn’s experience speaks for itself. She has a Bachelor of Building Construction & Engineering from the University of Flor- ida. She worked for McDevitt & Street in Atlanta, Georgia as a project manager on some of Atlanta’s biggest commercial construction undertakings, including the Georgia State University Library. In 1988, Yahn moved to Washington, DC and worked as a senior project manager for Omni Construction on such well-known commercial construction projects as The Crowne Plaza Hotel at Metro Center, the Compri Hotel in Crystal City and her most publicized and awarded accomplishment, Reston Town Center.

In 1992, Yahn expanded her construction firm to create a unique environment by providing a one-stop design and construction firm where the home-building process from choosing the land to making selections to putting the final touches with landscape is entirely at the client’s disposal. She has partnered with top, nationwide designers, architects and consultants to bring the very best to her clients.
