The Upperville Colt & Horse Show, presented by MARS Equestrian™, is the oldest horse show in America. Visit this week-long Hunter and Jumper show this week, June 6-12, 2022. The show features an array of competition, from International FEI 4* jumper classes to classes for Amateurs, Juniors, Side Saddle, and Hunter Breeding.

The Upperville Colt and Horse Show dates back to 1853. Heretofore, horses – particularly stallions – had been exhibited for prizes at country and state fairs, but it is believed and accepted that the horse show, as a separate entity, was introduced on the American sporting scene at Upperville, Virginia in that year.
Today, the show takes place over the first full week in June and includes more than two thousand horse and rider combinations. Prizes are awarded for in-hand hunter breeding conformation, and performance in both hunters and jumpers. Riders range from local children on their lead-line ponies to Olympic caliber horses and riders.
Popular attractions include the $25,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby and the $213,300 FEI 4* Grand Prix event that concludes the show on Sunday. Crowds are also entertained by fun exhibitions, like the Jack Russell Terrier races and the Horses and Horsepower antique car show. An exquisite array of local and national vendors brings variety and interest to shoppers and foodies of every age and taste. Attracting tens of thousands of spectators each year, Upperville has been named Horse Show of the Year by the National Show Hunter Hall of Fame and the Virginia Horse Show Association.
