Celebrate Local has been all around Historic Leesburg this month and last week we ventured into SideBar for lunch with a twist. SideBar is a stylish restaurant and cocktail bar established in 2017. There is an array of options for seating indoors and out. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed our lunch on the stone patio among the lovely potted planets and natural surroundings. The rustic yet elegant ambiance provides a comfortable feel for your dining experience. The service was excellent and the food was fantastic.
The menu has a variety of options for the health conscious eater including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Order a healthy salad for a light lunch, maybe some elevated bar food or one of their signature dinners. The cocktail menu has a litigious flair. Order up a “Common law” for a citrus taste or an “Alimony” for an apple flavored drink. If you want something with a pumpkin spiced flavor go for the “Grand Jury.” Check out the menu for more crafty cuisine and creatively legal libations.
SideBar has a great deal for their happy hour each day from 2pm-6pm. Draft beer & wine start at $2 at 2pm, $3 at 3pm, $4 at 4pm and $5 at 5pm. Select cans and bottles are $5, rail spirits are $5, house cocktails are $2 off and happy hour bites are also $5. What a great excuse to get out early and enjoy an afternoon at SideBar! They also offer Whisky Night every Wednesday from 6-10 in The Carriage House.
If you are planning an event SideBar has have some pretty classic options. Rent out the Carriage House for a dinner party of up to 15 guests or a cocktail party of up to 32 guests. They provide a fully stocked bar and an optional private bartender. You will have the choice to add the Lower and Upper Decks to increase your party size. Another option is the 1885 Lounge (AKA Night Shift). On the second floor of SideBar, there are two rooms and a private restroom available. You may invite 32 guests for a seated affair and up to 30 more for a bar like setting. The second room, contains a fully stocked bar where an optional private bartender.
In addition to delicious food, a creative cocktail menu and a sublime atmosphere, SideBar gives back to their community. They are currently promoting a charity poker tournament to support the Loudoun Breast Health Network. The event will take place on December 15th at Whisky Wednesday Night. They will be playing Texas Hold ‘Em style poker with the top two finishers moving on to a final table. Prizes will be raffled to those that move on to the final table.
