Many times it is hard to be kind. When you are stressed or overwhelmed, when you are angry or frustrated, it can be the last thing you are thinking about. Times like these are the most important times to push yourself and show kindness through your words and actions. Not only will it make the day of a friend or stranger, it can really make a differences in the way you feel too. Our goal at Celebrate Local is to encourage kindness to make our community a better place.

What is Kindness?
“Kindness is defined as the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate. Being kind is doing intentional, voluntary acts of kindness. Not only when it’s easy to be kind, but when it’s hard to be.” [Kindness 101.] If you are having a bad day and feel like lashing out instead take a deep breath and do something intentionally kind. It will make you feel so much better, as well as the benefactor of your kindness. Maybe your acts of kindness will even create a culture in your community to keep paying it forward. One thing is for sure….it is better to do something good for someone and feel good about yourself then to do something unkind and feel bad about your self all day.
