Opening day
An annual event you won’t want to miss is the Fauquier County Fair. The fair takes place at the Fauquier County Fair Grounds on Old Auburn Road in Warrenton. This country fair includes livestock showing in the following categories: beef cattle, dairy cattle, meat goat, dairy goat, poultry, rabbit, and sheep. Carnival rides, county fair traditions, and games are all part of the fun.
The fair opens Wednesday, July 13th with Family Night featuring Touch-A-Truck, a fun family event that will get you up close and personal with some pretty awesome machinery. Some other opening day highlights include:

Events
A few of the activities at this year’s fair:
- ATV rodeo (under 18 only)
- Barnyard obstacle course for ages 4-13
- Bike rodeo for ages 5-12
- Chicken and animal parade, judged on enthusiasm, appearance, and overall showmanship
- Corn hole tournament ($30 per team)
- Hot dog eating contest
- Livestock obstacle course
- Pedal tractor pull
- Power wheels hay maze
- Watermelon seed spitting contest
Trey Schneider will open the musical entertainment on Thursday night at 7:30 pm followed by Ryan Jewell at 8:15 pm. The rodeo is back by popular demand for two nights this year beginning at 7 pm on Friday and Saturday nights.

Parking
This year’s fair traffic will follow a NEW TRAFFIC PATTERN. All incoming traffic will enter the fairgrounds across from the John Deere dealership on Meetze Road by turning left onto Rodgers Drive.
Hours & Tickets
The fair opens at 2 pm Wednesday through Friday and 9 am on Saturday. It will close at 11 pm each night. Admission is $5 for kids age 11 and under, $10 for adults, $5 for senior citizens (55+), and $5 for adult military (with ID).
